Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. Make 10 minutes of music a day without an account, or 30 minutes a day with a free account. No credit card, no trial. Free listening has a short break for LimeWire Pro every few songs.

Do I need an account?

No. Making songs needs no account: your songs stay in your browser. Create a free account with an email, a username and a password when you want to publish, follow artists or make playlists.

How long does it take to make a song?

Usually a minute or two. When many people are making songs at the same time, it can take a little longer.

How long can a song be?

Up to 4 minutes when you make it. Extend it by up to 90 seconds at a time, as often as you like.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. LimeWire.fm runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to download. You can also add it to your home screen as an app.

Which languages can it sing in?

50 languages, from English, Spanish and Hindi to Hungarian, Swahili and Japanese, plus Estonian in beta. Pick the vocal language on the Create page.

Can I write my own lyrics?

Yes. Paste your lyrics under My lyrics, let the AI write them from your description, or choose Instrumental for no vocals. Tags like [Verse] and [Chorus] shape the song.

Can I download my songs?

Yes, as MP3 or as WAV for editing software, from the song's ••• menu. Downloads are free and unlimited.

Can I use the songs commercially?

LimeWire.fm's terms let you use songs you make, including commercially, as far as the law and the AI model's licence allow. AI-generated music may not be protected by copyright in some countries, so for big projects check the rules where you live.

Can I sell AI songs?

The terms allow commercial use as far as the law and the model's licence allow. Streaming services and stores have their own rules for AI music, and many ask you to say a song is AI-made, so check them before you upload.

Who owns AI-generated music?

It depends on the country. In many places copyright needs a human author, so a song made entirely by AI may not be protected, while lyrics you write yourself are your own work. On LimeWire.fm, the terms let you use the songs you make as far as the law and the model's licence allow.

Is it clear that the music is AI-made?

Yes. Every song page says Made with LimeWire AI, and shared links, the lock screen and downloaded files say AI-generated.

Can it sound like a famous singer?

It doesn't copy real artists. If you name one, the AI gets a description of the general sound instead, such as "dark synth-pop with a falsetto male voice", and song titles can't name real artists.

Can the AI sing in my own voice?

No, it doesn't copy voices. You can sing over any song yourself with Add your voice, or hum a melody and get a song built around it.

Which AI makes the songs?

ACE-Step 1.5, an open AI music model released under the MIT licence. It writes the lyrics, composes the music and sings in one go.

Can other people hear my songs?

Only if you publish them. Published songs get their own page and link and can show up in charts, genres and search. You can also publish a song as unlisted, so only people with the link can hear it.

Can I keep the song private?

Yes. Songs stay in your browser until you publish them. Publish as unlisted to share it by link only, or keep it to yourself.
