A free Suno alternative
Suno is the best-known AI song generator. LimeWire.fm does the same core job, full songs with vocals from a description, and makes different choices. Here's an honest comparison.
Make your song freeNo account needed · 10 free minutes of music a day
No account to start
On LimeWire.fm you can make songs without signing up; they stay in your browser. You only create a free account to publish. Suno asks you to sign in first.
Free songs and downloads
LimeWire.fm gives 10 minutes of music a day without an account and 30 with a free one, with MP3 and WAV downloads. Suno's free plan gives daily credits for non-commercial use, and recent reports say its downloads are capped.
An open model
LimeWire.fm uses ACE-Step 1.5, an open AI music model under the MIT licence. Suno uses its own models, which aren't open.
Where Suno is ahead
Suno makes longer songs, splits songs into stems and has voice features and a full studio on its paid plans. LimeWire.fm's songs are up to 4 minutes and grow with Extend; stems aren't available yet.
Listening built in
Every song published on LimeWire.fm joins a free streaming app with charts, genres, playlists and artist pages.
About this comparison

How it works

- Choose the lyrics: the AI writes them, you paste your own, or you go instrumental.
- Press Create. Your song is ready in a minute or two.
- Listen, edit or extend it, then download it or publish it with a link to share.
