Turn a poem into a song

Poems already have rhythm and pictures; a melody brings them to life. Paste your poem under My lyrics, pick a style, and the AI sings it.

Find the chorus

Most poems have no chorus, but songs love one. Pick the strongest line or stanza and repeat it under [Chorus] between the verses.

Shape the lines

Lines of similar length sing best. Split very long lines in two, and put each stanza under [Verse] so the music knows where a new part starts.

A style that suits the words

A dark poem might become a slow piano ballad or a blues song, a funny one a bouncy folk song, a love poem an R&B slow jam.

Whose poem is it?

Your own poems are yours to use. Many very old poems are free to use, but poems by living or recently living poets usually aren't without permission, so check the rules where you live.

Ideas to try

Press an idea and Create opens with it filled in. Change anything you like before you make the song.

How it works

  1. Open Create, choose My lyrics and paste your poem.
  2. Put the stanzas under [Verse] and repeat a strong line as the [Chorus].
  3. Describe the style and the mood, then press Create.
  4. Listen, re-sing any line that doesn't fit, then download or publish the song.

Questions

Will it change my words?

No, it sings the text you paste. It may stretch a word to fit the melody, and now and then a word comes out unclear: re-sing that line if it does.

Can I turn a poem in another language into a song?

Yes. Pick the poem's language as the vocal language on the Create page: the AI sings in 50 languages.

Can it write the words for me?

Yes. Describe your song and choose Write lyrics I can edit: the AI writes lyrics you can change line by line until they sound like you.

Who owns AI-generated music?

It depends on the country. In many places copyright needs a human author, so a song made entirely by AI may not be protected, while lyrics you write yourself are your own work. On LimeWire.fm, the terms let you use the songs you make as far as the law and the model's licence allow.

Is it really free?

Yes. Make 10 minutes of music a day without an account, or 30 minutes a day with a free account. No credit card, no trial. Free listening has a short break for LimeWire Pro every few songs.
